Why should you apply to be a Research Assistant?
Find out if the Cognition and Language Lab is the right fit for you!
Becoming a research assistant (RA) takes time, dedication, responsibility, and patience. If you have an interest in building these skills, gaining experience with different databases and technologies, or have a general interest in cognitive psychology, you're in the right place.
You can receive academic credit or volunteer hours from joining the Lab on top of gaining a deeper understanding for how research is conducted by facilitating experiments, coding data, recruiting participants, and working with graduate students and professional researchers first hand. If you're interested in pursuing graduate school or a career in academia, you should consider becoming a research assistant.

How to Become a Research Assistant
There are no specific requirements (no GPA or major necessary) for applying besides an interest in joining the Cognition and Language Lab. Whether you are looking to volunteer or recieve course credit, research assistants are required to dedicate 10 hours per week to the Lab. You will work directly with the current graduate students to create a schedule and experience that is right for you.

If you are interested in applying, please email Dr. Jeanette Altarriba for an application at jaltarriba@albany.edu.
